A specialist provider of intelligent monitoring and security solutions, delivering CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, environmental monitoring, and backup systems to commercial, industrial, and domestic customers. The organisation focuses on reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and safeguarding client assets through advanced technologies and strong aftercare.

Role Overview

The company is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to install, commission, service, and maintain a wide range of security systems, including CCTV (IP & analogue), Intruder Alarms, and Access Control. This is a field-based position covering the Midlands and surrounding areas.

The role requires a professional, customer-focused engineer who can deliver high-quality installations, solve technical issues, and communicate effectively with clients.

Responsibilities:

Installation & Commissioning

  • Install and commission CCTV, Intruder Alarm, and Access Control systems.

  • Carry out both small and larger project installations.

  • Diagnose and resolve technical faults onsite.

  • Ensure all work meets industry standards and company expectations.

Service & Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and system health checks.

  • Provide clear on-site assessments and communicate findings to customers.

  • Identify and suggest potential system improvements or additional solutions.

Customer Interaction

  • Attend customer appointments as scheduled.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally about work carried out.

  • Maintain a tidy, safe work environment at all times.

Operational Duties

  • Participate in the on-call/standby rota.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and support stock control processes.

  • Stay updated with new technologies, industry standards, and relevant training.

  • Attend toolbox talks, training sessions, and technical briefings.

  • Support team objectives and assist colleagues when required.


The Candidate:

Essential Requirements (Non-Negotiable)Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Security Systems industry.

  • Strong background working with CCTV and security alarms.

  • Competent in fault-finding and troubleshooting across security systems.

Certifications & Compliance

  • CSCS/ECS card (minimum Health & Safety).

  • Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.

  • Awareness of key British Standards relevant to installation & maintenance.

Skills & Personal Qualities

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written).

  • Strong customer service and professional presentation.

  • Works well independently and within a team.

  • Calm under pressure with solid problem-solving skills.

  • Eager to learn and committed to high workmanship standards.

Other Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Must live within 30 minutes of the B60 area.

  • Willingness to work outside normal hours when required.

Desirable Skills (Not Essential)

  • Experience with Honeywell Galaxy systems.

  • Experience with Texecom systems.

  • Knowledge of Access Control platforms (various brands).

  • IP networking understanding (PoE, addressing, port forwarding).

  • Any manufacturer-specific training or certifications.

Summary

The Offer:

Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 (experience dependent; 5 years’ experience preferred)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
Location: Based near B60 (must live within 30 minutes of office)
Reports to: Operations Director
Team Size: 4 (including Technical Manager)
