Role Summary:
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic and growing finance team. This position plays a critical role in supporting financial operations by ensuring accuracy in financial recordkeeping, timely transaction processing, and effective communication with clients, partners, and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
Financial Recordkeeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for accounts payable and receivable.
Record and reconcile financial transactions within the general ledger.
Bank Reconciliation
Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.
Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Accounts Payable
Process and verify invoices from suppliers, insurers, and partners.
Code and prepare payments in accordance with financial controls.
Respond to payment-related queries and maintain good relationships with payees.
Accounts Receivable
Generate client invoices and manage incoming payments.
Communicate with clients regarding outstanding balances.
Follow up on overdue accounts and support credit control efforts.
Credit Control & Premium Finance
Manage instalment plans via premium finance providers.
Chase overdue payments from clients and insurers outside standard credit terms.
Quality Assurance
Conduct peer reviews on financial documentation and transactional records.
Contribute to improving accuracy, efficiency, and financial compliance processes.
Other Duties
Support additional tasks as directed by the finance lead or line manager.
Be flexible and willing to assist with ad hoc accounting and administrative duties as business needs evolve.
The Candidate:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Commitment to ethical financial practices and compliance with industry standards.
The Offer:
