Role Summary:

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic and growing finance team. This position plays a critical role in supporting financial operations by ensuring accuracy in financial recordkeeping, timely transaction processing, and effective communication with clients, partners, and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

Financial Recordkeeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for accounts payable and receivable.

  • Record and reconcile financial transactions within the general ledger.

Bank Reconciliation

  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Accounts Payable

  • Process and verify invoices from suppliers, insurers, and partners.

  • Code and prepare payments in accordance with financial controls.

  • Respond to payment-related queries and maintain good relationships with payees.

Accounts Receivable

  • Generate client invoices and manage incoming payments.

  • Communicate with clients regarding outstanding balances.

  • Follow up on overdue accounts and support credit control efforts.

Credit Control & Premium Finance

  • Manage instalment plans via premium finance providers.

  • Chase overdue payments from clients and insurers outside standard credit terms.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct peer reviews on financial documentation and transactional records.

  • Contribute to improving accuracy, efficiency, and financial compliance processes.

Other Duties

  • Support additional tasks as directed by the finance lead or line manager.

  • Be flexible and willing to assist with ad hoc accounting and administrative duties as business needs evolve.

The Candidate:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Commitment to ethical financial practices and compliance with industry standards.

The Offer:

£30,000.00 per year
