Role Summary:

Our client is a leading workforce development solutions provider specialising in education, training, and assessment. Currently, we are seeking a Technical Trainer / Assessor with a robust background in mechanical engineering, encompassing mechanical maintenance. The role primarily entails delivering training and assessment in core maintenance skills to learners of all ages. Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, fitting, and assembly is preferred. This role is ideal for a qualified engineer committed to delivering exceptional teaching and cultivating an optimal learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing training plans

  • Delivering high-quality training and assessment

  • Managing learner progress and documentation

  • Maintaining training facilities and equipment

  • Upholding safeguarding practices and policies

  • Attending relevant meetings, events, and CPD sessions

The Candidate:

Must Haves:

  • Minimum Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Maths and English

  • Industrial experience in mechanical engineering

  • Qualified engineer to at least Level 3 with expertise in engineering

  • Teaching and/or assessing qualification or willingness to obtain

  • Familiarity with safeguarding practices

  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative

  • Flexible and adaptive approach to work

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous improvement

  • Full driving license and ability to provide references

Desirable Criteria:

  • Understanding of apprenticeship delivery

  • Experience with apprentices or in teaching/assessing

  • Maintenance and health & safety qualifications

  • Awareness of Ofsted and quality assurance requirements

  • Leadership or management qualification
