Role Summary:

The post holder will be responsible to the Head of Strategic Alliance and form part of the Executive team for Approach.

The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the day-to-day running of all aspects of the social care element of Approach service delivery for 1-2-1 dementia support and group dementia support. This will include the maintenance and improvement of quality-of-care planning and individualisation of services in line with recognised standards of service delivery and upholding a person centred care approach.
Working closely with the Head of Strategic Alliance the post holder will input into the development and implementation of the strategic direction for the organisation, in particular the 1-2-1 and group services development.

The post holder will provide input, direction and some management in terms of organisational operating system and logistical delivery. Project and partnership development will form part of this role in line with strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Head of Strategic Alliance input into the strategic direction and be responsible for the efficient, effective and economic delivery of the 1-2-1 dementia support service and group dementia support.

  • Working closely with the Head of Strategic Alliance Identify and manage key projects, to enhance the offer of Approach to those living with Dementia and their Carers across North Staffordshire.

  • Working with the Head of Strategic Alliance maintain and develop the operational policies and logistical systems for all aspects of the organisations and by doing so the delivery of high-quality social care provision to vulnerable adults using Approach services.

  • Monitor the systems in place to enable service users to access additional external and internal services i.e. transport requirements, carer support etc.

  • Working closely with the Dementia Carer Support Manager input into the development and implementation of an effective and efficient induction and training programme for all staff. Facilitate the learning and development of staff in person centred approaches to care.

  • Carry out staff appraisals and monitor and evaluate staff performances.

  • Attend and Chair staff meetings as required.

The Candidate:

  • Experience of working in a health or social care setting with people affected by dementia, enabling choice of service users and maximizing dignity.

  • Experience and understanding of assessment processes and working with external organisations and service users to provide services.

  • Able to demonstrate operational skills in managing overall services, including financial and HR operations.

  • Excellent time-management and organisation skills to prioritize and meet deadlines and targets when lone working and when working in a team.

  • Excellent IT, including excel, and administrative skills, with experience in a busy professional environment.

  • Take responsibility for own personal development and proactively keep up to date with changes in the Health and Social Care sector

  • Able to meet the requirements of the job role and have a flexible approach to working hours/days and willing to work weekends, evening and unsociable hours as required.

  • Hold a current driving license and daily access to a vehicle.

  • Must have had or be prepared to have the COVID vaccinations

The Offer:

In return our client can offer a salary of £24,000.
